Seasonal Standardized Streamfunction Anomaly

This map shows the seasonal (3-month average) streamfunction climatology and standardized anomalies at the 250, 500, and 925 hPa pressure levels in the atmosphere using the 1991-2020 base period for the season shown.

Seasonal streamfunction climatology values are shown as grey contours with a contour interval of 10E+06 m2/s; dashed contours represent negative values and solid contours represent positive values. Positive standardized streamfunction anomalies are shown in yellow and orange, and negative anomalies are shown in shades of blue, with shading starting at +/-1 standard deviations and a contour interval of 0.5 standard deviations.
