Seasonal Streamfunction Anomaly at 250 hPa

This map shows the seasonal (3-month average) streamfunction climatology and anomalies at the 250 hPa pressure level in the atmosphere using the 1991-2020 base period for the season shown.

The seasonal streamfunction climatology values are shown as grey contours with a contour interval of 10E+06 m2/s; dashed contours represent negative values, and solid contours represent positive values. Positive streamfunction anomalies are shown in yellow and orange, and negative anomalies are shown in shades of blue and are also expressed in units of m2/s.
